frozen water

Finally the snow came! A few weeks ago I could storage my kayak and pull out the snowboard. It has been almost two years since I have touched it, but it felt like I haven´t done anything else for my whole life when I cut the first turns into fresh powder! I like snowboarding and skiing. It is what I´m doing since I am 2 years old and like riding a bicycle, you will never forget how it works.

Surprise paddling in homeland

Switzerland is dammed! Switzerland is producing 60 pro cent of its electricity with water. Hence there are only a few rivers on natural flow. The "Hinterrhein" is one of the two main sources of the Rhein river. Not only the Hinterrhein has already two big dams and a few little ones, but also its tributaries are all dammed. On natural flow the river would have several different sections, some steep creeking style, some would be big volume paddling during the summer snow melt. Since they have big problems with gravel and mud that barrier the pipelines in the dam-lakes, the electricity company´s are forced to open the gates for a few months during this winter! But it is not really "winter" in the Alps yet.... time for a little boating and exploring.

Paucartambooo...
